Our Roots

A practicing physical therapist since 1980, Mike Resop enjoyed treating his home health patients throughout Adams and York counties in south central Pennsylvania. As a home health "P.T." Mike's work consisted of helping his patients become as safe, mobile and independent as possible through exercise and instruction. He became more convinced as time went on that getting the correct, properly fitted equipment was another essential part of the equation.

In response to the need, along with Mike’s entrepreneurial bent, Mobility By Design was launched in August 2001. Since then, we've grown to serve the mobility needs of south central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland.
